The 2nd Bangladesh Light Engineering Expo (BLEE 2026) was held from 2–4 February 2026 at the Shahid Abu Sayed International Convention Centre, Dhaka — bringing the country’s light engineering sector into sharp national focus over three high-energy days.

Organized by the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (BEIOA), with support from the Ministry of Commerce and the World Bank-backed Export Competitiveness for Jobs (EC4J) project, BLEE 2026 showcased Bangladesh’s remarkable industrial depth — covering construction, agricultural, packaging, textile, and jute machinery, alongside automobile components, electrical goods, dies, molds, and more.

The expo highlighted a sector of genuine scale: 50,000 SMEs, over 300,000 skilled workers, production of 3,800+ types of machinery and components, and a contribution of nearly 3% to national GDP. While Bangladesh currently exports around $795 million in engineering products, that figure could reach $12.56 billion by 2030 with the right policy support, technological investment, and global market access.

BLEE 2026 served as a powerful reminder that Bangladesh’s light engineering industry is not just a domestic backbone — it is a globally competitive sector in the making.
